Nine members of Trump's transition team do not believe in climate change and all cabinet appointments that deal with global warming do not believe in it. Furthermore appointments to government agencies that deal with climate change are climate change deniers.
So U.S. scientists are rushing to copy and preserve reams of federal public climate data before the Trump administration takes office. These scientists have devoted their lives over the last decades of providing data the world relies on for climate science. They fear that climate data sets will be maliciously destroyed or lost through neglect or negligence in a Trump Administration.
The data will be stored overseas. "We have to preserve the data sets in civilized countries like Germany and Sweeden" said Professor Jim Morris, a climatologist from Princeton University. You need to understand that the U.S. is quite backward and primitive when understanding science and global warming."
"The U.S. is currently ruled by the GOP and only 20% of Republicans say that climate change is a serious threat. The U.S. is full of these under-sized brain primitives who wouldn't care if Trump burned scientific books or destroyed climate change data on computers. We have to get the climate data sets out of the country," said Professor Morris.
That scientists fears are well-founded was evidenced by Rep. Tim Tilford (R- SC) who said "Preserving phony global warming data is a waste of taxpayers money. Besides, when the human species is in danger, God will reveal that to man. To deny that is to contradict the Bible and be under the influence of Satan."
Senator Jim Inhofe (R-OK) joins Tilford. Inhofe has been arguing for years that only God and His natural works-not the activities of humankind-can affect the climate. "[M]y point is, God's still up there. The arrogance of people to think that we, human beings, would be able to change what He is doing in the climate is to me outrageous," he said.
There are millions of American evangelicals who agree. Said, Emma Strange, an evangelical from Macon, GA, "In the schools the teachers ought now be allowed to teach anything that goes against God. Trump gets this and says climate change is a hoax. He won't let the teachers corrupt our children. I hope Trump burns the so-called science books that mention climate change,"said MS. Strange.
