image for US marine falls from plane amid NCIS 'Hung Out To Dry' copycat episode fears
Gibbs and DiNozzo bound to crack it

North Carolina - Lawyers specialising in copyright issues were parachuted into White Lake today amid claims that a marine who fell from an Osprey aircraft may have inadvertently plagiarised NCIS Season 1, Episode 2 'Hung Out To Dry' with his copycat move.

The September 2003 episode established the plagiarism benchmark for all subsequent 'US marine falling from aircraft' scenarios in a move repeatedly supported by the Supreme Court of Tinseltown.

Sources close to Gibbs, Di Nozzo and Ducky Mallard this morning stressed the importance of precedent as news of the missing US marine went viral on the web, sparking myriad conspiracy theories.

Gotta keep the hacks busy, I guess.

By nightfall the missing senior crew member of the 2001-built Osprey - a hybrid craft which takes off like a chopper and flies like a plane - remained missing but presumed out there somewhere in the early evening news.

The aircraft which had been based at Marine Corps Air Station New River some 45 miles away has now been locked down by NCIS investigators ahead of a proper swabbing down back at the Naval Yard HQ.
