According to Mr & Mrs Franklin Getz, a trip on a criese ship is like going into a hospital. Odd are pretty good that you will come down with something that you didn't go for.
"Like a hospital, if one person is sick and it can be caught by others, some more people, perhaps half the passengers will have it before long," stated Helen Getz. "Of course, often those people didn't even know they were sick when they got aboard."
The Getz told about one cruise they were on that had their own small hospital staff aboard, which they thought was a good idea.
"Don't get us wrong", stated Franklin. "We still love to go on a cruise now and then but we have been on eight thus far and there are always sick people aboard, but usually it is sea sickness. But sometimes the 'sea sickness' can be flu of some kind. We have came back to port only once and twice had the cruise cut short. I've had the shits almost every cruise, usually after visiting a market or port restaurant."
The Getz say they personally don't see how a ship can be completely cleaned before going back out with another group.
"But that having the miniature hospital aboard with an isolation area id the best idea yet."
