As the world shuttered at the prospect of World War 3 this morning, word of a private conversation between Russian leader Putin and President Obama was leaked by inside sources at the White House. The source, who requested anonymity, stated: "I suppose throughout the history of mankind this is what it always comes down to!"

President Barack Obama appeared late morning in the Rose Garden and when asked about Putin's statement he responded with a one sentence answer before turning and leaving the podium: "He's got to be kidding!"

As the world awaited further developments in the increasingly tense situation other former and current world leaders responded:

Prime Minister of France Francois Hollonde responded angrily, "Not even in my league! Did you see what I was hiding under my motorcycle helmet when I snuck out of the mansion that night!"

Former disgraced Italian Prime Minister Silvio_Berlusconi? stated: "I coulda bin sumbody! I coulda bin a contenda!"

Premier Li Keqiang of China appearing only briefly at a hastly called news conference and speaking in broken English said quietly, "Not in ball park on this one. Lucky to have small election every Flyday before bleakfast!"

As a tense world awaits the latest news, the United Nations is rumored to be considering calling a Joint session of the Security Council.

In other breaking news, Anthony Weiner, former US Congressman, has challenged both world leaders to a shootout at either Facebook or the OK Corral.
