Washington - Lobbying groups close to Governor John Wright Chickencooper - uh, Hickenlooper! - Jr have petitioned President Obama to relocate the White House Governors Dinner to Colorado's Garden of the Gods next year following an economic miracle in the pothead state.
Dubbed the jewel in the crown of the USA's Highest State the Garden's recently upgraded conference and banqueting facilities have made it the ideal venue for the annual National Governors Association blow-out following a pot revenue-funded $50 million refurb.
The venue is already solidly booked for the remainder of 2014 with myriad special interest groups reserving a newly erected 100ft tall high tech yak skin yurt in the park's main trail, the Perkins Central Garden Trail, for their meetings.
Rangers have upgraded a number of the National Natural Park's landmarks to reflect the success of Colorado's fledgling pot industry including the Juniper Way Loop to the Bud Pollen Loop where the new Banqueting Center car lot is located.
Commenting on the latest moves a PR for the Rocky Mountains attraction said a new promotional movie had been released to showcase the venue as a world class kinda conferencing resort:
"It's all there in the newly digitized and remastered movie, How Did Those Red Rocks Get There," Dave Pothead said this morning.
The venue's high-speed booking form is available for download here.
