A man has amazed doctors and workers at a hospital by waking up after being declared dead two days before.
The family had waited till several family members could arrive to hold the funeral in Nairobi, Kenya.
Meanwhile a worker at the morgue began to slide the body out of it's container and the man moved. He stated that he tried to get help but other workers there said he ran down the street while glancing behind him. Then they almost joined him when the dead man walked to the door but he asked them, "What happened? Where am I?"
Authorities have since launched an investigation into how Paul Mutora was mistakenly put into the morgue at Naivasha District Hospital, north-west of the capital Nairobi.
Apparently, Mr Mutora had attempted to take his life by ingesting insecticide and was pronounced dead on two days before.
Some of his family who had traveled a long way seemed upset at him not being dead.
The doctor in charge of Mr Mutora's reawakening said that it is suspected that the drug slowed his heartbeat, which may have led to him being mistaken as dead.
Mr. Mutora, given a second chance, says he feels like he has a purpose for living now.
