ASPEN, Colorado - Several national news publications are reporting that they have heard that there are some hotels in the Colorado winter resort town of Aspen that are paying their employees in marijuana.
Jefferson Sierra with National Focus Magazine stated that he interviewed a manager of one of Aspen's most popular hotels and he said that the employees at his hotel are actually being given the choice of getting paid with a check (as usual) or in marijuana.
He commented that roughly 48 percent have decided to get paid in marijuana.
He then added that many of the employees who prefer to get paid in pot also work as part-time ski instructors so they do have another means of an income.
One employee who said her name was Lollie Milkbutter told Sierra that she thinks it is fantastic that she now has a choice of getting paid in marijuana or with a check.
She noted that by getting paid in pot it saves her from having to stand in line at the pot shop where she normally buys her weed.
SIDENOTE: Many of the hotel employees call it a win-win situation and are grateful for the choice.
