Canada has launched a Venus Rover from Cape Mountie closely following space projects by China and India.
The Rover, while being very small, about the size of Ken and Barby's car is set to bounce down through the opaque atmosphere of Venus in eight months time. "We think we have a niche in the Venus Exploration field" said a Mounted Space Official today. "Venus is probably as boring as Canada so our trials with a Barby car should have provided the correct information for the Rover control microchip which is adapted from a 1990 IBM desktop computer.
The self expanding Rover which is to be enclosed in a Space Hopper will slow down through Venus's atmosphere using multiple whoopee cushion effect bladders. "We will be listening for the first exciting transmissions from the probe shortly after it enters Venus's atmosphere and the breaking wind bladder retarders stop making hilarious farting noises."
