Apalachicola, Florida - A team of research scientists from Chicago has just spent five weeks doing research down on the Florida Gulf Coast.
The team's director Dr. Randy Sangrantino, 54, stated that after spending thousands of hours studying guppies they have made an astounding discovery.
The doctor revealed that the guppy is the only species of fish known to man that can actually giggle.
He noted that at first they thought that the guppies were merely burping, but after increasing the volume of the guppy sounds they were able to determine without a doubt that the guppies were actually giggling.
The giggling sound is not exactly in the same category as the laughter of a laughing hyena but it is definitely a giggling sound nonetheless.
SIDENOTE: Dr. Sangrantino said that now his team of research experts will return to Chicago and try and determine exactly what it is that makes the guppies giggle.
