WATERLOO, Iowa - A lifelong farmer of Black Hawk County has just informed the local authorities that after four years of trying he has finally managed to breed one of his male pigs to a female chicken.
Archie P. Dilldoodle, 71, told the Black Hawk County district attorney that his wife Emma Nora, 70, is so proud of him that she is going to sew him a pair of his favorite britches and some boxer shorts.
He was asked by a member of the local newspaper how he was able to get the chicken (Chloe) to allow the pig (Porky) to mount her.
Archie giggled a bit and said "Well, let me say that it tweren't easy. But after I gave old Chloe a couple of glasses of Thunderbird Wine the little gal just suddenly started kissing Porky like crazy."
He said that Porky and Chloe are now inseparable and Porky will not allow any of the roosters to get within 10 feet of her.
Archie refers to the female offspring as a pigken and he has named it Betty. He said that Betty looks like a chicken except for the fact that she has a curly tail, a snout, and she makes a noise that sounds like a cross between a cackle and an oink.
Archie remarked that he has been approached by The Phineas & Penelope Fitch Traveling Sideshow & Carnival about purchasing Betty but he says he wouldn't sell her for all the French fries in France.
SIDENOTE: Archie Dilldoodle informed the crowd of news media, neighbors, relatives, police, and the district attorney that Chloe is now laying eggs that taste just like bacon.
