PHOENIX - Word coming out of Governor Jan Brewer's office is that the state of Arizona is in the final stages of talks with the government of Egypt to purchase a pyramid.
The governor was first approached about purchasing an Egyptian pyramid by Maricopa County Sheriff Joe "Pinky" Arpaio.
Sheriff Arpaio feels that the biggest tourist attraction in the state, The Grand Canyon is beginning to lose some of its appeal and the number of tourists who visit Arizona to see the Grand Canyon has dropped drastically over the past three years.
The 81-year-old self-proclaimed Toughest Sheriff in America told the governor that he really thinks that purchasing an authentic Egyptian pyramid will help to get the tourist numbers back up.
Governor Brewer, who will turn 69, on August 26, totally agrees with her BFF Pinky as she affectionately calls him.
The governor stated that talks with the Egyptian government have proved fruitful and if all goes as planned, Arizona should be home to an authentic Egyptian pyramid by the summer of 2014.
SIDENOTE: The pyramid in question is the Great King Allemande Left Pyramid which is located 209 miles due west of the Egyptian city of Mallawi.
