After having been in popular use for more than 250 years, the word fart will soon be replaced by brraaaap. Dr. Bunny Glaze, speaking from the annual convention of the World Gastroenterologists' Union, said support for brraaaap by the doctors' group was overwhelming. "Everybody loved brraaaap right away. It actually sounds like someone passing gas, doesn't it?" asked Glaze rhetorically.
Glaze said while brraaaap was the hands-down favorite, the doctors considered several other fart replacement words. "Prit was quite popular, but it really suggests a small squeaker--like something a cheerleader might sneak out hoping no one would hear it or smell it--rather than a larger expulsion of gas. We were also quite fond of Blaaaaaat, but our panel thought the six consecutive a's were too much," Glaze exclaimed.
Contrary to rumors, Glaze said gastroenterologists have no intention of replacing the word vomit. "It's a terrific word. After all, it still sounds disgusting," she said happily.
