President Obama recently reassured the nation that taxes would indeed go up, but only for other people.
"If you're afraid of taxes going up, they will, but not for you. For others, maybe, but not you." the President stated in a speech to the nation. "You can rest assured that your taxes will stay the same" he added.
An Obama supporter in Ohio said he "breathed a sigh of relief" at that. "He stated that "I knew when the President said "you" that he meant me, and I was relieved to know that my taxes will stay the same. Of course I feel bad for everyone else, but I'll rest a bit easier."
A long time supporter of the President said that he had recently become disillusioned with the President's handling of the economy, but he felt better once he knew that other people would be paying higher taxes. He said "I know that sounds selfish but I guess I have to take care of myself. I don't want my parents to kick me and my family out of their basement." He then added "They'd do it too. They voted for Romney!"
