TRUTH OR CONSEQUENCES, New Mexico - A team of oil surveyors who were looking for a possible site for a pipe line which would bring oil from Mexico into the United States recently made an amazing discovery.
The chief surveyor identified as Packwood F. Duckdibble, 49, said that his team happened upon a previously uncharted swamp that is located 37 miles east of the town of Truth Or Consequences.
The swamp which is the largest in the world, does not appear on any geographical map.
The gigantic swamp is believed to have been formed by the volcanic eruption of Mt. St. Beyonce, which occurred on September 17, 1493, one year after Columbus had discovered America.
Duckdibble did some research and he learned that not even native New Mexican Indian tribes such as the Chiricahua Apaches, the Mescalero Apaches, or the Lipan Apaches had ever mentioned the amazing swamp.
He did note that he came across a cave drawing in an Internet site that showed crude markings of some Yaqui Indian teepees which clearly showed some alligators half submerged in muck and mire in the background.
SIDENOTE: Mr. Duckdibble has filed his discovery with the North American New Lakes, Rivers, Mountains, and Swamps Agency. He was told that since he discovered the swamp he has the right to name it. After talking it over with his wife of 27 years Elvira Jo Duckdibble, 46, he decided to name the swamp after her - Housewife Swamp.
