Washington - There is growing disgust at the Pentagon this weekend after the mother of a Brit computer hacker who caused millions of dollars of damage to US military computer systems demanded an official pardon from President Obama 'and a grovelling apology' for her appalling lawbreaker son.
Janis Sharp says wants the high profile whitewash after managing to persuade doctors, lawyers, judges and politicians - including Home Secretary Theresa May - against extraditing her son Gary McKinnon to face due process.
Her 10-year campaign claimed that what McKinnon did was a harmless bit of 'foraging for aliens' in the Defense Department's computer data base.
A UK tabloid newspaper then took up the cause suggesting that McKinnon 'might top himself' if extradited.
And a cunning bunch of shyster Human Frights lawyers took the proverbial icing on the hacking cake by claiming McKinnon 'wasn't really responsible' for his behavior because of a psychi-atrick 'syndrome' that he suffers called Aspergers.
This afternoon the UK's Crown Prosecution Service said it would not be trying McKinnon in a British court 'because there's precious little chances of conviction'.
The $800,000-worth of damage the hacker caused would have seen him face a lengthy custodial prison sentence in the US where the authorities take cyber law breaking a lot more seriously than brain-dead Brit politicians like Ms May.
"Her boy Gary deserves millions of dollars in compensation for what he's suffered since his arrest 10 years ago," Mrs Sharp's tarot reader commented.
"The lad's an absolute icon of big brother scapegoating.
