French president Francois Hollande issued a statement this morning in which he said, "Today we are all American children!"

The Mayor of London (UK) issued a statement regarding Romney that read in part, "There he goes again!"

The Boston Globe ran a banner headline yesterday afternoon that stated, "Romney makes Big Bird road kill!"

As the news of Romney's Big Bird comment from the debate reverberated around the world his initial bounce in the polls quickly abated and started a downward trend. As the Chicago Tribune reported in its morning headline: "Romney steps in it one more time!"

In related news, journalists stationed outside the Romney home in Massachusetts report this morning spotting the seven-year-old granddaughter Of the Romney's walking up and down in front of their home carrying a sign. It read: "I love Big Bird! Grandpa---You're fired!"

As reporters rushed to interview the child Governor Romney ran to the child and picked her up. They heard him say to her, "Hush baby, when I'm elected president maybe I will pardon Big Bird for Thanksgiving. If not, you can have a drumstick!"

Last seen Romney was carrying the little girl kicking and screaming back into the house.
