Serena Williams was spotted purchasing a pair of Adidas shackle shoes at an Adidas retail outlet on Main St. in Santa Monica, California. The shoes were specially ordered for Williams.

"I purchased the shoes because I've experienced problems in the past loosing shoes that have slipped off my feet but with these shackles these babies aren't going anywhere," said Williams.

Serena loves traveling to Germany and Amsterdam where that sort of bizarre fashion is a craze.

The same day Serena was photographed by paparazzi entering the Shrine on Melrose Ave. in Hollywood to purchase a gothic dog collar.

"I'm planning a wild party in Amsterdam for my friends and I needed to pick up the dog collar for a costume my sister is making for me," she tells a reporter for Celebrity News.

Serena had problems attaining the shoes a week before her order came in.

She had measured her feet with a ruler first and wrote down the size. But she was in a hurry to set out for the Adidas outlet store that she left the note at home.

When she arrived at the shoe store, she felt in her jean pocket only to find that it was not there. So she said apologetically, "I have left the measurement at home and don't know the size. I'll fetch it in one minute."

She hurried off as fast as her legs could carry her.

She got home, found it and then to the store again. But still it took her quite a while and the store was already closed then. She had gone to all that trouble for nothing and did not get her shoes ordered.

Then someone asked her, "Did you buy the shoes for yourself or someone else?' 'For myself, of course." she answered. "Then why didn't you have them measure your big feet in the shoe store?"
