People gawked. Cellphones were whipped out, and photos snapped. Totally unimpressed, the pig, wearing a bright red calico scarf around his neck, continued onward to his destination.
Later in the day, a Spoof reporter, expert in the language of oink, was able to corner this special pig for an exclusive interview. After all, tons of folks wanted to know where the pig was going and why he was wearing a scarf.
The explanation? Simple. He was heading for work -- he models scarves for a living -- just like a lot of other folks. The pig told the reporter, "I love my job, and I don't mind bringing my work home with me, so I end up wearing a scarf pretty much 24/7." He said that it keeps his neck warm; pigpens can get chilly, especially in the evening. Besides, he doesn't like the feeling of being totally naked. And he continued, "In this market, to keep a job, you have to give a little extra. I do that by displaying the company's wares."
The words of actress Shelley Duvall seem relevant here. "Pigs are not that dirty. And they're smart, strange little creatures. They just need love." Well, make that love and some social media savvy. The pig with a scarf already has two twitter accounts (@parkwaypig and @sharpdressedpig) set up in his honor.
He's not getting down and dirty with his fellow pigs. No siree, this pig is on his way up in the world!
