Washington, D.C.-President Obama has been urged by gay rights activists to once again consider gay marriage after another very public falling out with his wife, Michelle. Rumors about the couple's difficulties have been circulating for months but took on added drama with this latest tiff when the couple's much rumored incompatibility reached new heights of visibility.
After returning from a much needed Florida Vacation, just two weeks after leaving Hawaii, the couple arrived on separate jets that just happened to arrive at the same time outside Washington D.C..
At Andy's Air Force Base-the name of which was changed from Andrews Air Force Base during the last round of budget cuts-Barack and Michelle immediately got into an argument over who's jet landed first and over who had dibs on de-boarding first.
The argument escalated until Michelle was screaming and flailing her arms at the president before storming off in a Huff, which sped away leaving Mr. Obama standing alone.
The very public display of anger by the first lady caught the attention of everybody but especially that of gay rights activists who have long been urging Barack to give gay marriage a chance.
"That's all right, baby." consoled gay activist Seymour Knowless, who just happened to be on the same tarmac waiting for the arrival of his own lover, Major balls.
As he put his arm around the tearful Barack and squeezed him tight, Mr. Knowless patted the president's shoulder and in a background voice whispered: "That bitch just don't know how to handle a man like you the way I do. What say we get hitched? Hmm?".
Mr. Obama politely demurred, saying he was willing to give his marriage to Michelle one more chance. "The offer still stands." said another activist when contacted by this reporter. "Just come on out to San Francisco any time, Mr. President, and we'll show you a good time."
For now, Barack and Michelle appear to be living peacefully together again at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave, but experts agree the more open and fierce public displays of discord between a couple are, the less likely a happy outcome becomes. Maybe it is time Mr. Obama considers gay marriage. If only for the sake of the children.
