Washington--Mitt Romney seemed shocked that Republicans would attack him for being Republican.
"Doesn't the Republican Party stand for unfettered capitalism, large amounts of wealth, and token gestures to the poor and middle class? Because I thought I fit that mold pretty well." Mitt Romney said.
Mitt Romney is the front runner, after winning in Iowa and New Hampshire, so he is the target of couple of his opponents attacks.
When questioned about Newt Gingrich's attacks, Mr. Romney had this to say: "Oh, Newt is just mad that people don't like him anymore. Now he knows how his two ex-wives feel."
But Mr. Romney work at Bain Capital was also used against him by Rick Perry, who made fun of Mr. Romney's fear of running out of pink slips.
"Rick Perry doesn't have to worry about pink slips, because he only likes adding government jobs." Mr. Romney said with a snicker.
Mitt Romney believes he is a Republican, but he isn't sure why other Republicans don't like him and want to call him bad names. He did say he was going to keep campaigning and crushing Gingrich and Perry's souls with every win he gets.
