NEW YORK CITY - Mayor Bloomberg is pretty upset at a text message that he has just received from Vice-President Joe Biden.
The vice-president has informed the mayor that the Federal Historical Department, which is headed by Biden, has just voted 4 to 3 to move the Statue of Liberty from New York City to the nation's Capitol.
The mayor informed the members of the New York press corps that the reason given was because the FHD has intercepted a directive stating that a special cell group comprised of home-grown Taliban and Al Qaeda operatives is planning on stealing the historical monument.
When asked how in the world a group of individuals could possibly steal a monument which stands 305 feet tall and weighs 225 tons, an unnamed member of the FHD replied that if there is one thing that they have learned in the 40 years of the department's existence is to not put anything past a determined groups of individuals such as Al Qaeda, the Taliban, or the five women on "The View."
Vice-President Joe Biden stated in the text message that by having the Statue of Liberty moved to Washington D.C. it will make it much easier to be guarded 24/7, plus he added it is a whole lot prettier than the Washington Monument or the Lincoln Memorial.
He pointed out that couple that with the fact that the monument will now become Federal property and now anyone even attempting to steal the Statue of Liberty will be arrested, tried, and incarcerated for 99 years with no chance of parole.
Mayor Bloomberg says that no matter what, he is planning on filing an appeal with the New York State Monumental Federation as well as with the New England Society For The Maintaining of Historical Entities.
When told about this, Vice-President Joe Biden grinned from ear-to-ear and started laughing.
He replied tongue-in-cheek for Bloomberg to be his guest and good luck with that because both agencies receive 90 percent of their funding from the United States government.
In the world of sports. The Major League Baseball World Champion St. Louis Cardinals will not be moving to Corpus Christi after all as had been recently reported by several sports publications.
