Local man, Mike Beesaw, can not hear a word his wife is saying in the other room.
Mike and Laurie Beesaw have been married for just under one year and so far, things have been going just fine. At night, Mike likes to sit in the living room of his one-bedroom apartment and watch shows like King of Queens and Everybody Loves Raymond while his wife, Laurie, likes to work on her writing in the office.
Mike explains this is normally the time of night when Laurie begins talking to him from other rooms.
"At first I would yell back, 'I can't hear what you're saying from over here' but I don't think she could understand what I'm saying from over here."
Mike explains most of the time, it turns out to be something completely opposite from what he thought Laurie was saying.
"At this point, I just try to make sure I'm answering correctly. I can determine by inflection whether or not it's a question and I go from there with a 'yes,' or 'I don't know, I'll have to check on it in the morning.' Honestly, it would make things a lot easier if she just came into the room when talking to me."
As an episode of King of Queens ends, Mike begins looking for the remote.
"Laurie? Where's the remote?"
We hear from the other room, "Meatballs?"
Mike responds with, "Yes."
