image for Unearthing Natalie Wood case leads to revival of old bad joke
Wood is easy to poke fun at. Zakharenko, on the other hand,....

LOS ANGELES, Calif.--When you're trying to dig up treasure, you're bound to run into some worms. This seems to be the case in the reopening of the almost 30-year-old Natalie Wood case.

On November 29, 1981, Wood drowned near Santa Catalina Island, California. Although her death had been declared an accident, new eyewitness accounts have come to light which lead investigators to believe that Wood may have been accidentally slapped around, accidentally choked, accidentally beaten, then accidentally propelled into the water, and then accidentally left to drown.

Along with the disturbing images these accounts can conjure up, insiders feel that it's only a matter of time until a distasteful 30-year-old joke hits the Net and goes viral.

"What's the only kind of wood that doesn't float?"

Said one Hollywood insider, "If only she would've kept her original Russian name, her memory could've been spared this embarrassment. I mean how many jokes can you make of Natalia Nikolaevna Zakharenko?"

Make Lyndon's day - give this story five thumbs-up (there's no need to register, the thumbs are just down there!)
