Washington, DC-- First Lady Michelle Obama says she will be handing out carrot sticks this Halloween instead of candy. Ms. Obama says the nation's kids are too fat already, and they should eat healthier foods. She advises all parents across the country to follow her lead.
"Give out good food. Let's make this a new Halloween tradition." said Ms. Obama. "Who needs all those calories--and cavities!" she laughed.
The First Lady said that trick-or-treaters who knock on the door at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue will have their choice of healthy snacks.
"We'll be giving away carrot sticks, celery sticks, and broccoli florets for the really adventurous. Don't go asking for chocolate--we don't have it!" she laughed some more.
Although Ms. Obama isn't giving any sugary snacks away to strangers she is planning to let her two girls have a more traditional Halloween feast.
"My girls are just a little bit better than the average kid." she bragged. "They will get the best candy in the world."
The First Family plans to munch on chocolate truffles sprinkled with gold dust, along with an assortment of Godiva chocolates and yummy butter creams.
"When you are better than everyone else, you deserve the best." she explained.
