Underwear similar to that rifled by NoTW

London, UK: Following weeks of shocking revelations regarding phone hacking and illegal payments to police officers, it has now emerged that a News of the World "journalist" broke into Buckingham Palace during the Queen Mother's funeral in 2002, and rifled through the well-loved royal's underwear drawers as her body was being laid to rest.

Clarence House have confirmed that the allegations, released by the Metropolitan Police today, are consistent with disturbances to the royal undies that were noted at the time.

It is unclear what the news reporter was hoping to achieve, but it has also emerged that the family of Jade Goody received an undisclosed settlement from News International shortly after the reality television star's funeral, and neither the Murdochs nor the Goody family have confirmed whether that payment was also related to funereal undies rifling.

Despite the latest revelation appearing to represent a new low, Labour MP Tom Watson asserts that there may be worse revelations yet to come.
