David Cameron is today appealing to his fellow MP's to forego the payment of their salaries for the time being.
'It is not fair on the taxpayer to have to fund our useless lives pretending we are in power when the levers of the State are quite outside our province. We are a sham and the British people deserve better!'
This brave statement is likely to upset some of Cameron's backbenchers but Nick Clegg speaking on behalf of the Lib-Dems welcomed the move.
'This is what we promised in our joint agreement with the Tories. It is the only solution' Clegg said.
However MP's are organising to go on strike so that they can use their muscle to stop Cameron in his tracks.
Cameron is to go over the heads of his fellow MP's and appeal to the honest taxpayer to assist in his battle with the backbenchers - some of whom were only elected by a minority of their constituency electorate.
The country is on the edge of a showdown to determine the way forward for the Nation.
