The Coalition Government has celebrated its first birthday at the five star Montcalm Hotel in London.
The first UK Coalition Government for 60 years has had its fair share of ups and downs and there were major doubts expressed by sources on both sides of the divide as to whether or not the planned celebrations would actually take place.
Despite the disastrous election results for the Liberal Democrats at local and national level, the Coalition partners agreed to proceed with the birthday bash yesterday at the exclusive Marble Arch venue.
As with any traditional birthday party, the event didn't really take off until the jokes, balloons and clowns turned up.
The Tories arrived later.
