Millions gathered for the festivities of the Royal wedding in London recently. The men dressed appropriately, the women done up as far as humanly possible. World wide it is estimated that a billion people watched the wedding on the television. All seems well for the future of the Royals for generations to come.
In another city the top fashion designers from across the globe all gathered together in Paris for a party celebrating the recent Royal wedding as well. The party was a private affair only attended by industry super insiders.
One would speculate the designers were gathered to pat each other on the backs for a job well done. At the wedding ceremony the ladies were done up to be sure but did they really take a good look in the mirror before joining the festivities? Maybe they need to look a little harder in the future.
Vera Wing, the well respected designer was in the corner of the suite with Bill Lass, the top mens designer. The pair were laughing uncontrollably as they watched the throngs of people gathered for the wedding. When they were asked what was soooo funny the reply was not what we expected.
"Every timer there is a big world wide event we come up with the most ridicules, stupid looking dresses, hats and shoes for women to wear and they do." Said Vera. "We like to see just how far we can go into the "funny looking" category and get away with it."
It seems the more ridicules we make something look the more they want to wear it. I just can't get over the stuff these women will wear. If you don't believe me just watch the Academy Awards or the Kentucky Derby, freak shows to be sure but a Royal wedding takes the cake. You'd think these women would look in the mirror and say to themselves, "this looks kooky", but they don't. Added Bill Lass.
I think the message here is just because something has a designer label on it does not mean the designer is not just goofing on you to get a good laugh.
