image for BBC To Screen Baby's First Taste of Grapefruit

A baby's first taste of grapefruit is to be screened by the BBC later on this year as part of a series about the life cycle of the human body.

Scientists have advised that it is "important not to shy away from talking about unpleasant early human reactions to events such as bitterness and sour tastes.

There is a case to be made for filming unpleasant experiences as well as enjoyable ones".

But the subject matter has provoked an angry response from children's groups who claim that deliberately feeding a baby something that will provoke an adverse reaction is tantamount to child abuse.

UNICEF are taking out an injunction to stop the programme going ahead.

Make grimbo's day - give this story five thumbs-up (there's no need to register, the thumbs are just down there!)

The story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
