A gay man almost lost his temper this morning on Channel Six breakfast TV show 'Bacon And Eggs With Pauline McGlynn' when the Irish star of Father Ted asked him if he ever wears pink socks.
Algernon Farquarse almost exploded as the former Mrs Doyle tried to get him to admit to wearing pink socks by repeatedly saying to him:
"Aw go wan! Ya know ya do! G'wan! Just admit it!"
Farquarse angrily denied that he has ever worn pink socks - not even on Pink Day, when people wear the colour pink in order to promote and raise funds for breast cancer awareness. He also went on to quite vehemently state that none of his gay acquaintances ever wore pink socks either, and that nobody he knows would be seen dead wearing pink socks.
When McGlynn asked him how he'd respond if she presented him with a gift of a six pack of pink socks from the pound shop, he took her by the throat and snarled:
"I should throw them in a bloody skip! And you with them! You silly tart!"
A floor manager, who fainted at the scene is expected to make a full recovery.
