Orange, one of the big 5 the mobile phone providers have announced their new advertising 'face': Dale Winton.
Not to be outdone, Easy Jet have called in David Dickinson to front their orange faced celebrity campaign.
"We'll be having the strap line, Cheap as Chips," said Stelios, owner of the bargain airline company.
"We're quite pleased to have got Dale Winton," said Richard Lemon, CEO of Orange. "We were originally going to go with Leslie Ash, but her lips put us off, although they do emphasise the talking aspect of Orange, they're still off-putting."
Not to be outdone in the orange faced celebrity stakes, Katie Price will be doing a Tango ad, whilst Jodie Marsh has apparently been lined up the face of Sainsbury Supermarkets.
"There's been a real glut of using these over-fake-tanned celebrities in the advertising world," said marketing industry insider, Ian Cider. "Tropicana are leading with Michelle Heaton and Nicole Ritchie, both of whom are quite orange. Not on the same level as Dickinson and Winton though. I believe the ad is how they both hope they can attain the Dickinson level of fake-tan through drinking Tropicana."
According to Cider, the only loser in the sudden rush is Tigger, the friend of Winnie the Pooh. "He's got too much black in him," said Cider. "If he can fake tan those off, I reckon he's in with a chance."
