The South East MEP and former UK Independence Party leader Nigel Farage has spoken of the light aircraft crash he was involved in last May.
He suffered broken ribs, bruised lungs and facial injuries in the accident in Northamptonshire on polling day.
An Air Investigation Enquiry established that the accident was the result of an "unfortunate misunderstanding."
The pilot , who has not been named for legal reasons, was advised by his employers that, as Mr Farage had a reputation for being short tempered and easily irritated, he was to obey any instruction given by the MP, no matter how bizarre it might seem.
When the pilot asked Mr Farage what party he represented, the latter replied UKIP, so he did.
Hence the crash.
