A father taking his children to school said he was in "absolute awe" when he broke down and David Beckham stopped to help.
"It was an absolutely mental place to break down," he told Richard Bacon on BBC 5 live. "David Beckham was the first person to stop and he helped push the car to a safer place."
Unfortunately, this was not the end of the drama. The man then had a complete mental breakdown, telling the ex-England captain that he loved him.
"I remember I said 'You're David Beckham' several times, and 'I can't believe it!'."
David Beckham apparently diffused the situation by smiling and asking the man if he was OK. The father of two responded "I love you mate!"
One of the children later told reporters: "It was so embarrassing. Dad went all mushy because some bloke stopped and helped instead of mugging us. I don't even think it was David Beckham."
