Mouth of the Severn: artist's impression of what Tabak might look like in a KGB uniform

Bristol - (Hexed-Files): The American financial analyst is still in a state of shock following widespread news coverage of her boyfriend's arrest.

Friends of Morson's at work said today that Tabak, a highly qualified architectural engineer, 'may have had a secret parallel life' about which neither Tanja nor anybody else actually knew.

Bristol police probe sources have stonewalled reports that sophisticated computer gadgetry found in Tabak's/Morson's home, just yards from where tragic Jo Yeates may have met her death, is highly significant.

But signs of hurriedly deleted files on Tabak's laptop were today being linked to the homing beacon of a missing Russian nuclear sub.

The signal activated briefly last weekend off the Mouth of the Severn and was picked up by the GCHQ listening post in Cheltenham, some 40 miles northeast of bristol.

The Akula class attack nuclear submarine first vanished off Scotland's Western Isles waters in October, coincidentally in an area reporting a 3.5 magnitude earthquake this weekend.

GCHQ monitors briefly captured the encrypted sub signal's algorithm before a huge storm on the Severn Bore shut down directions to its source.

A MoD GPS tracker is currently scouring the estuary for signs of the interloper.

Meanwhile in a Bristol jail remand wing Tabak looks shellshocked - just like a zombie.

His first visitor's pass doesn't activate until at least Friday and Tanja Morson has gone to ground.
