A penguin stolen from London Zoo on Tuesday has been recovered and returned to the zoo unharmed.
A woman was apprehended running along the strand with the penguin under her arm on Wednesday night. She had dressed the bird in baby clothing to try to disguise it.
A police spokesman told the press that the woman claimed to have heard the voice of God speak to her from her television saying; "A pick up a penguin".
She had scaled two walls, abseiled down the Snowdon Avery, crossed the lion enclosure and had a near miss with a brown bear on her way to the penguin pool.
She chose the bird because she thought it had a striking resemblance to Baldrick from 'Blackadder', her favourite TV show which she was watching, on its 7th repeat on Gold, when the voice of God spoke to her.
Police have not charged her but sent her to her local Conservative Democrat branch to apply to become an MP.
