The Daily Mail is up in arms after it was revealed taxpayers money was being used to treat known terrorists to fun days out around Britain.
The paper's worst nightmares were confirmed when itineraries were leaked from the Ministry of Defence showing that Secretary of State Liam Fox was personally giving guided tours which included trips to Chessington World of Adventures, afternoon tea at the Ritz and box tickets for the Queen musical We Will Rock You.
But the government was quick to defend its policy, saying its was part of its long-term strategy to counter terrorism with subtle indoctrination of Western values. David Cameron pointing to statistics showing that only 7% of those who had participated in the scheme had gone on to commit "horrific acts of terrorism" and believes he can get that statistic down to 5% if they adopt his new proposal to also include Madame Tussauds' Waxworks on the schedule.
Fox was also keen to stress the positive impact of the scheme. "Many of the participants start the day with a very negative view of the West" he said "but usually by the end of the night they are the first to join in to the head-banging section on Bohemian Rhapsody, which represents a huge victory for our core British values.
