Former heart throb, George Michaels, awoke today to spend the next eight weeks in an entirely 'different corner' ... An 8 foot by 6 foot cell.
The singer, who's real name is Frank Jones, was sentenced following revelations he had crashed his Austin Allegro into a shop front whilst high on marijuana.
Mr Michaels, who is half Cypriot, initially denied the accusations by arguing that his brother, Stavros Flatley, was the one driving the car.
However, his defence was thrown out after it emerged that the shop front he had smashed into was a CAMERA shop. Police studied the photographic evidence which clearly showed Mr Michaels tangled up in the shop window. Some of the photos were even ready in 20 minutes after officers paid for express snaps.
Shop owner Max Spielman said "I couldn't believe it when I saw the pictures. It's not every day a big celebrity like that smashes through your window. We've had ram raids but nothing like this. Admittedly, I prefer Celine Dion but beggars can't be choosers I suppose" he added.
A police spokesman said "It's just unfortunate he smashed into a camera shop. Had it been Poundland next door he would have got away with it."
