Some Rifled Bins Awaiting Forensic Testing In Ryde Early This Morning.

Isle of Wight News last night received confirmation that American Master Detective, Inspector Morse, is to fly to the UK from New York City to assist Island policemen in cracking the case of the Ryde Wheelie Bin Rifler.

Inspector Morse became an international celebrity after he solved the mysterious 'Man With No Shoes' case, in Springfield, Illinois, in his homeland. We have solid information suggesting that Inspector Morse will hold an emergency summit with Island detectives in Winchester on Friday The Thirteenth.

He is also expected to deliver a series of lectures at the London School Of Economics before returning home. It's our understanding that he will not be bringing with him, his faithful sidekick and assistant, Yogi the wonderdog.

Mayor Vernon Adcock, of Ryde, expressed his unconcealed delight that a major international player was involving himself in the case of The Ryde Wheelie Bin Rifler, especially as the great detective was offering his unrivalled services for free.

"We've done everything in our power to apprehend the Ryde Wheelie Bin Rifler - undercover stake-outs, cctv, forensic profilers, psychic investigators, nothing's worked," Mayor Adcock told us. "We're confident that Inspector Morse can crack this one. Then the good people of Ryde can sleep peacefully in their beds again, safe in the knowledge that whoever has been rummaging in their wheelie bins at night will be safely locked up. For life. In Broadmoor."

More as we get it.
