Much loathed sexist comedian and self confessed 'fat bastard' Roy 'Chubby' Brown has expressed his support for Shadow Home Secretary Chris Grayling in the gay bed and breakfast ban row.
The furore began when Grayling was secretly taped saying that he felt that private B&B operators who lived on the premises should have the right to refuse to accommodate gay couples, if they so wished.
Grayling denied that he was anti-gay, having supported gay legislation in the past, but believed that ultimately the last word on admission policy belonged in the hands of the business operators.
The Labour Party immediately pounced on the disclosure by claiming that deep down, most Conservatives are still deeply homophobic, and that the Conservatives haven't really changed in 50 years.
Chubby Brown, who still plays to packed houses in faded British seaside resorts decided to involve himself in the argument after seeing two gay men commenting on the situation on a TV news item.
Brown claimed that he wasn't homophobic, but that he would find it offensive to have two hairy arsed, tattooed biker-type blokes slobbering all over each other in his living room while he's trying to watch 'Dickinson's Real Deal' on daytime TV.
Maybe with his grandkids around.
"That could lead to some fucking awkward questions," Brown told us. "Just because a pair of nancy boys want to shag each other silly in your spare room. Nobody should be forced into a situation like that by the law. I'm right with Chris Grayling on this one. But not in a gay way. I mean, I'm not a fuckin' turd-pusher or owt like that!"
We're sure Mr Grayling will appreciate the support.
More as we get it.
