Shoppers in High Wycombe were shocked today as a viscious drive-by shouting was carried out in the town centre.
Mary Higginbotham, 58, suffered a heart palpitation when the shouting occurred at 9:37 this morning, opposite the Eden shopping centre.
Des Cheivley, a witness, told us "the shoppers were all milling about when all of a sudden this car pulled up alongside the pavement, it kinda just pulled up to the kerb and edged along. Almost like the occupants were selecting a victim."
When the car, a blue Ford Fiesta '03 plate, levelled with Mrs Higginbotham, the window wound down slowly and a raised voice was heard to scream a tirade of abuse at the startled woman.
"I couldn't be sure of what was said," Cheivley continued, "it was a foreign accent, possibly Polish or Latvian."
Mrs Higginbotham dropped to the floor in shock as the car sped off towards the Octagen shopping centre. Bystanders helped comfort her while they waited for an ambulance. She was later released from hospital, shaken, but not harmed.
Police are still trying to trace the car, they believe the shouting could be a case of gang related mistaken identity.
More as it shakes our tailfeather.
