image for Metropolitan Police environ-mental

It has been announced that protestors are not the only thing the Metropolitan Police are seeking to destroy.

Today the UK Metropolitan Police have admitted running the most environmentally unfriendly fleet of vehicles on the planet. With government agencies at every opportunity ramming home the importance of being 'environmentally friendly' the Met police are doing their level best to destroy the planet.

The Metropolitan Police runs 5,442 road vehicles and used some 4.5 million litres of unleaded fuel and 8.8 million litres of diesel in 2008-9. On all that lovely carbon producing fluid they managed to achieve just 65 million miles of travel. (or 2500 times round the earth)

This means the Metropolitan Police achieved just 4.88 miles per litre, or 20 m.p.g

With the standard Police car Volvo T5 achieving 39.2mpg extra urban, 30.1mpg combined there seems to be a considerable amount of fuel missing? Maybe all the petrol bombs used in traning the Mets TSG could account for all this surplus fuel.

Oh and the carbon footprint of all this spent fuel, well a staggering 35,000 tonnes of CO2. To imagine this amount, think of 216 Jumbo jets!

The calls for Metropolitan Police officers to spend time out walking the beat might assist reducing their carbon foot print!

Make justlaw's day - give this story five thumbs-up (there's no need to register, the thumbs are just down there!)

The story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
