A local dog named Rex has been cautioned by police and warned to discontinue his spying activities in the locality after he was caught peeping on a neighbour's cat as it licked itself.
'Rex' - name altered due to legal reasons - is entered in the Guinness Book of Records as being the World's nosiest animal and holds several local awards for sniffing out old bones and tennis balls.
But the animals continued snooping has upset many locals.
The local postman labelled him a 'voyeur' after his encounters with the curious animal.
A woman who walks her Chihuahua past the dog's garden every day said she felt 'violated' by his incessant staring and drooling.
The cat incident was the last straw. The cat - who also cannot be named for legal reasons - was engaged in a good fur-licking session when it's owner spotted Rex peering over the garden fence, tongue dangling suggestively.
Rex's owners have been told to make the dog watch television indoors or read a book in future otherwise he may face stiff penalties.
