After recent media hysteria over MPs expenses, it is now the bank bosses' turn to be exposed.
The Daily Dredge has released details of all bank chiefs' expenses over the past year. Shockingly it shows a culture of businessmen willing to blatantly obey the rules and spend money on relatively luxurious items while travelling away on business.
HHHC bank boss Hermann Boring travelled to New York seven times in 2008/2009 for meetings. On each occasion he stayed in a 4 star hotel, enjoying three restaurant meals a day. Once he went to the Hilton and had caviar and foie gras. All of it was paid for by the HHHC company, which is now owned by the government. Mr Boring said he was "just doing what anyone who travels on business expenses does."
Excitable people looking for an outlet for their mindless anger are fuming over the media hype.
