image for Afghan Women Get Bum Deal Again
Freedom For Goldfish - But Not Women - Afghanistan Today

Afghan President Karzai has shocked the world, especially the female half of it with a series of laws designed to win the support of the shia population of the beleaguered country.

Under the new laws, paedophilia will be allowed, as girls will be considered marriagable upon attaining their first period, males at 15 years of age.

All women will wear the burka when not in the family home.

Marital rape also becomes legal, as women must 'preen' at all times for their husbands and consent to sexual relations as and when required, ie, on demand.

Women cannot leave the dwelling place unless accompanied by the husband or a nominated other, and only then with permission.

If a wife is not giving her husband sex, then he has no responsibility to maintain her, or even provide food.

Education for females will be banned, and females will not be allowed to work.

"Sounds good to me," Eric Threadbare, 53, unemployed of Burnley told us. "Women should be seen and not heard. If we'd had these laws in this country my wife couldn't have left me. I'm all for it me."

Try telling that to the troops who are trying to rebuild Afghanistan, we say, you'll soon get short shrift. And probably a good kicking too.

Hopefully we won't get any more of this kind of shit, which would possibly be funny if it wasn't true.
