For the benefit of everybody who ever thought cricket was 'boring', have we at TheSpoof.com got news for you.
Cricket is NOT boring, and a group of scientists from the University of Bedhampton have teamed up to prove it. The team studied every aspect of the game in minute detail, concluding that cricket is probably the most exciting game in the world.
"Cricket is a game of contradictions," Professor Darryl Whirlybird told us. "For example, the batsman is described as being 'in' when he is actually 'out' on the field. Then when he is 'out' he goes in. The next batsman to be 'in' then goes 'out' onto the field."
Nodding sagely, Professor Martha Washngo added:
"My colleague is absolutely right. Whoever is in goes out, and whoever becomes out goes back in. Simple. And Silly Mid Off isn't necessarily silly. It's just a field position."
This reporter challenged the eggheads, asking what are: googlies, corkers, spinners, seamers, beamers, bodylines, bouncers, maidens and slips?
"Erm, I'm not sure..." Washngo spluttered.
Sorry readers, but as far as this correspondent is concerned, cricket is still crap.
More about something more interesting when we get it.
