The Inland Revenue have confirmed that they are investigating alleged tax irregularities by Professor Stephen Hawking.

We can reveal that the investigations centre around tax relief claims for shoe leather, believed to go back over twenty years. It is believed that the government department is also looking into possible false claims for throat sweets and cycle helmets.

Professor Hawking was not available for comment, but a close friend said that Professor Hawking was a law abiding citizen, without so much as a speeding ticket to his name. He added, "Exterminate, exterminate".

It is believed that Hawking is on the list of stars appearing in the next series of 'I'm a celebrity get me out of here', after refusing to take part in the BBC TV programme 'Can't cook, can't cook.'

Make Charles Letterman's day - give this story five thumbs-up (there's no need to register, the thumbs are just down there!)

The story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
