Gordon Brown and Alastair Darling are to feature in a new childrens book which will be distributed to schools throughout Britain and will teach children about good money management. In the book entitled "Another Fine Mess" they assume the characters of Laurel and Hardy in a madcap attempt to save a failing bank and getting themselves (and everyone else) into a right old mess and resort to printing money to get themselves out of trouble.
In a recent interview Gordon Brown commented " we are delighted to be involved in such a fun project which also carries such a serious message, in the story people get thrown out of work, have their wages cut and some even lose their homes, its absolutely hilarious"
The prime minister also let on that he is considering writing childrens books when his term in office comes to an end at the next general election and is already working on several books, among which are:
- Prudence Gets a Bank loan
- Prudence gets it all wrong
- Prudence gets a Fiscal Stimulus
- The Very Unemployed Catepillar
The book will be available from Friday.
