In a bid to beat falling house prices Buckingham Palace has been won as first prize in a countryside raffle.
The giveaway was intended to create a buzz around the housing market, to get people buying again . It was won by a Mr. C.George of Windsor, with ticket number 45.
He was noted as being overwhelmed at the situation, saying "I've been waiting years for an opportunity like this".
When asked what he was going to do with his new found property Mr George stated that he "has a horse that he needs to be housed somewhere in there, but that shouldn't be too much of a problem but apart from that, I'm just going to enjoy it".
Mr George has a whole different lifestyle waiting for him at Buckingham Palace with staff waiting on his every move to please him, he grew up in Windsor and is said to be married twice with 1, maybe 2 children but this is unclear.
One of the agreements of taking up such a landmark building as his new home is that every so often Mr. George will have to let people in to have a look around, and Mr. George will also be required to go outside and say a few words to all of the tourists from around the world that travel thousands of miles just to see the gates of the palace and spend time in the surrounding gardens.
Overall the scheme has been a success and Mr. George was definitely one happy tax-free customer, he was heard to be saying
"The pros definitely out weigh the cons, it's about time I had my buttocks in that bloody throne!"
