In recent years, a phenomenon has grown in the UK to the stage where it threatens the fabric of society - young men, mostly black, who wear trousers that looks like they belong to a 10 year old. The gusset of the trouser is worn at the same level as the knee, giving rise to the well-known phrase, gusset-knees.
The fashion trend has spread from New York rappers, who often perform concert wearing nothing but adult nappies. The small-sized jeans are seen to be an evolution of this into a more practical form of clothing.
A 63 year old man, Jack McRabies, was recently mugged by a gusset-kneed man, and recalls the experience. "He grabbed my wallet and ran off. I decided to chase after him, and thankfully his trousers only came up to his knees so he could only escape at a fast waddle. I soon caught up with him and hit him with my walking stick, taking back the wallet when he dropped it. He looked a right fool lying on the ground with his trousers round his ankles - except they were like that already."
Mr McRabies is now threatened with a 12 year jail sentence for assault.
