Christmas, a time for giving, eating plenty of food, family traditions and a poor line up of Only Fools and Horses repeats. "Not this year" claims BBC spokesperson for scheduling. "2008 is going to be a landmark year in Christmas television, as we are proud to announce that President Elect Barack Obama will appear in the Strictly Come Dancing Christmas Special".
The BBC show, which has been running for six years airs its Christmas special on 21st December where Mr Obama will sing 'Changes', original performed by David Bowie, with professional dancers Claudia Densse and James Orderlorder. Last year almost 59 million people tuned in to watch the Christmas special, a staggering 96% of the population.
Bruce Forsyth, the shows key talent and aged comedian, said today that he was delighted to hear that they have secured Obama, and that he hasn't signed to "those f****** c***** at X-Factor".
The BBC has also confirmed that for Christmas it will be airing 'An Audience with OJ' and a feature length documentary on 'Gary Glitter, the age of innocence'.
